Support

gnibs is a comment layer for the web: highlight and annotate any page, and see the public annotations others have left on it. Here’s how to get going and where to get help.

Troubleshooting

The keyboard shortcut doesn’t work. Some Chromium browsers (notably Arc) don’t auto-assign extension shortcuts, or reserve the combo for themselves. Set it yourself at chrome://extensions/shortcuts (in Arc, open arc://extensions→ Keyboard Shortcuts) — or just click the gnibs toolbar icon, which always works. If you don’t see the icon, pin gnibs from your browser’s extensions menu.

A note I left isn’t showing.gnibs re-finds your highlight by its surrounding text. If the page has changed substantially since you annotated it, the note may be marked “orphaned” and can’t be placed inline — it still appears in the gnibs panel.

I can’t post.Posting requires being signed in — see “Sign in to post” above. If you’re signed in and still stuck, sign out and back in at gnibs.com, then refresh.
